# Written vs Vanish

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Written at 100% against Vanish's 50%. Written also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Vanish's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (200 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Written sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Vanish sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Written holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vanish has 200 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Written's written reviews are positive against 50% of Vanish's.

Written ships an update every 12 months, Vanish weekly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
