# Written vs Secret Notes

The clearest difference is update cadence: Secret Notes at every 3 days against Written's every 12 months. Written's advantage is iOS requirement (18.6 vs 26.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Written sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Secret Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Written ships an update every 12 months, Secret Notes every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
