# Sable. vs Record Crate

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sable. at freemium against Record Crate's subscription. Sable. also leads on ratings volume (30 vs 1). Record Crate's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sable. sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Record Crate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Record Crate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sable. has 30 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sable. ships an update monthly, Record Crate every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
