# GekoGear vs AR

The clearest difference is update cadence: AR at every 3 months against GekoGear's every 11 months. AR also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 12.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GekoGear ships an update every 11 months, AR every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
