# Drum Starz vs Classic Drum

The clearest difference is rating: Classic Drum at 4.5 against Drum Starz's 4.1. Classic Drum also leads on ratings volume (2K vs 35). Drum Starz's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 63%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drum Starz sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Classic Drum sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Classic Drum holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Classic Drum has 2K ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Drum Starz's written reviews are positive against 63% of Classic Drum's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Drum Starz ships an update every 8 days, Classic Drum weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
