# DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai vs Private Browser ++

DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai and Private Browser ++ both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Private Browser ++'s written reviews are positive against 65% of DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai's. Private Browser ++ also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai's advantage is ratings volume (2.4M vs 33) and chart position (#16 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Private Browser ++ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai has 2.4M ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai's written reviews are positive against 92% of Private Browser ++'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
