# Shark Tracker vs QR Code

The clearest difference is monetization model: QR Code at free with in-app purchases against Shark Tracker's subscription. QR Code also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 weeks). Shark Tracker's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shark Tracker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and QR Code sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shark Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 46 and 30 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 0% and 0% positive.

Shark Tracker ships an update every 5 weeks, QR Code every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
