# Librivox vs cMate

The clearest difference is rating: cMate at 5.0 against Librivox's 3.9. cMate also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). Librivox's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 69 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Librivox costs $2.99 and cMate $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

cMate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Librivox has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Librivox ships an update every 2 months, cMate every 69 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
