# ArcamRemote vs HEOS

The clearest difference is rating: HEOS at 4.4 against ArcamRemote's 1.0. HEOS also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (27K vs 1). ArcamRemote's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 25%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HEOS holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HEOS has 27K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of ArcamRemote's written reviews are positive against 25% of HEOS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ArcamRemote ships an update every 14 months, HEOS every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on June 11, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
