# ArcamRemote vs Marantz AVR Remote

The clearest difference is rating: Marantz AVR Remote at 2.0 against ArcamRemote's 1.0. Marantz AVR Remote also leads on ratings volume (627 vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 14 months). ArcamRemote's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 21%) and iOS requirement (5.1.1 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Marantz AVR Remote holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Marantz AVR Remote has 627 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of ArcamRemote's written reviews are positive against 21% of Marantz AVR Remote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ArcamRemote ships an update every 14 months, Marantz AVR Remote every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
