# App Blocker vs TaskLock

The clearest difference is rating: TaskLock at 4.5 against App Blocker's 4.3. TaskLock also leads on ratings volume (31 vs 4) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 days). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Blocker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and TaskLock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TaskLock holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TaskLock has 31 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of App Blocker's written reviews are positive against 71% of TaskLock's.

App Blocker ships an update every 5 days, TaskLock every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
