# Boutboard vs CIQ

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CIQ at 100% against Boutboard's 47%. CIQ also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). Boutboard's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CIQ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boutboard has 1.3K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 47% of Boutboard's written reviews are positive against 100% of CIQ's.

Boutboard ships an update every 2 weeks, CIQ every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
