About

KoeSapo

Features

KoeSapo helps you keep a conversation going when hearing is hard: the other person’s English speech appears as text while they speak, and what you type is spoken aloud in an English voice. The app’s screens are available in English, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese, matching your device language. You choose the listening and voice language in Settings, from the languages your iPhone supports. Made for the counter, the table, the reception desk, and the people at home. Open the app, tap Start a conversation, and you’re ready. FREE TO TALK • See the other person’s voice as large text, as they speak. The top of the screen shows when KoeSapo is listening and how long the conversation has run. • Type what you want to say and have KoeSapo speak it for you. If a line doesn’t come through as text, tap Type your reply and answer right away. • The Card to show others opens in full screen and lets the other person know that you have trouble hearing and would like them to speak slowly and clearly. • Keep your go-to lines in the Phrasebook, organized in categories and subcategories, with an icon you choose for each category. During a conversation, pick a phrase and it goes into the text field. • Finished conversations are kept in Conversation history, ready to read again. • Change the text size, and the voice pitch and speed, in Settings. PAID FEATURES (SUBSCRIPTION) These six features need a KoeSapo Plus subscription: • Show to them: your latest spoken line in big, full-screen text, flipped to read from across the table, with the screen kept awake. • Quick phrases: open your Phrasebook from the bar above the text field and speak a phrase right away. • Search and sort phrases in your Phrasebook • Search conversation history by word or date • Export conversations as text or PDF • Share as a picture: turn the bubbles you pick into one picture to share. The subscription auto-renews. See the subscription screen in the app and the Terms of Use for details. A COMPANION AND A WINDOWSILL Open the Windowsill on the Talk tab to visit your companion, who is by the window next to a potted plant. Drop by any time, even with nothing to do. During a conversation, a small ear mark at the top of the screen moves when KoeSapo hears a voice. After you save a conversation, a note at the bottom of the screen lets you mark it as enjoyed right away. Conversations you mark line up on the Conversations you enjoyed shelf as book-shaped covers. PERMISSIONS KoeSapo needs Microphone and Speech Recognition access to turn the other person’s voice into text. With the Speech Recognition setting on Online (the default), your audio is sent to Apple’s servers to be turned into text. Choose Offline in Settings to process speech on your device, if your device supports it. If you don’t allow access, you can still type and have KoeSapo speak for you.
