# Record Lectures vs DefendMax

Record Lectures and DefendMax both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of DefendMax's written reviews are positive against 61% of Record Lectures's. DefendMax also leads on ads (none vs shown). Record Lectures's advantage is ratings volume (167 vs 14). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Record Lectures sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and DefendMax sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Record Lectures holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Record Lectures has 167 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Record Lectures's written reviews are positive against 100% of DefendMax's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
