# BeFreeVPN vs Astro VPN

The clearest difference is rating: BeFreeVPN at 4.6 against Astro VPN's 4.3. BeFreeVPN also leads on ratings volume (42 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BeFreeVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Astro VPN sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BeFreeVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BeFreeVPN has 42 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BeFreeVPN ships an update every 2 weeks, Astro VPN weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
