The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PocketClawMachine at none against EX's 1. PocketClawMachine also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 70%) and ratings volume (49 vs 2). EX's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EX sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. PocketClawMachine asks for nothing beyond the download.

EX holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PocketClawMachine has 49 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of EX's written reviews are positive against 89% of PocketClawMachine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EX ships an update every 2 weeks, PocketClawMachine every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
