# ProxyTap vs DowntimeTruth

The clearest difference is update cadence: DowntimeTruth at every 6 days against ProxyTap's monthly. DowntimeTruth also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). ProxyTap's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 1) and chart position (#122 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ProxyTap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and DowntimeTruth sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DowntimeTruth holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ProxyTap has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ProxyTap ships an update monthly, DowntimeTruth every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
