# Kaspersky vs Bitwarden Password Manager

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bitwarden Password Manager at none against Kaspersky's 10. Bitwarden Password Manager also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Kaspersky's advantage is review sentiment (76% vs 67%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kaspersky sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Bitwarden Password Manager asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bitwarden Password Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bitwarden Password Manager has 35K ratings behind it against 2.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of Kaspersky's written reviews are positive against 67% of Bitwarden Password Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kaspersky ships an update every 6 weeks, Bitwarden Password Manager fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
