# Melonote vs Looma

The clearest difference is rating: Melonote at 4.9 against Looma's 3.7. Melonote also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (43 vs 6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Melonote sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Looma sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Melonote holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Melonote has 43 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Melonote's written reviews are positive against 67% of Looma's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Melonote ships an update every 4 days, Looma every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
