# Summary vs Playbacks

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Summary at 55K against Playbacks's 1.3K. Summary also leads on chart position (#18 vs unranked). Playbacks's advantage is review sentiment (84% vs 72%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Summary sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Playbacks sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Summary against 4.8 for Playbacks. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Summary has 55K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Summary's written reviews are positive against 84% of Playbacks's.

Summary ships an update weekly, Playbacks every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
