# Gazing vs HD Capture

The clearest difference is rating: Gazing at 4.2 against HD Capture's 2.4. Gazing also leads on ratings volume (2.4K vs 5) and review sentiment (19% vs 0%). HD Capture's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gazing sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and HD Capture sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gazing holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gazing has 2.4K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 19% of Gazing's written reviews are positive against 0% of HD Capture's.

Gazing ships an update every 2 weeks, HD Capture every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
