# WAVE Intercom vs HOG Social

The clearest difference is rating: HOG Social at 5.0 against WAVE Intercom's 3.6. HOG Social also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly). WAVE Intercom's advantage is ratings volume (17 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HOG Social holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WAVE Intercom has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WAVE Intercom ships an update monthly, HOG Social every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
