# Security+ Test Prep vs SEC_CORE

The clearest difference is update cadence: Security+ Test Prep at every 3 months against SEC_CORE's every 7 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security+ Test Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and SEC_CORE sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Security+ Test Prep ships an update every 3 months, SEC_CORE every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
