# Hot Widgets vs DesktopWidget

The clearest difference is update cadence: DesktopWidget at every 3 days against Hot Widgets's every 3 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hot Widgets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and DesktopWidget sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hot Widgets ships an update every 3 months, DesktopWidget every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
