# GAINS vs Sobi

The clearest difference is monetization model: GAINS at freemium against Sobi's subscription. Sobi's advantage is ratings volume (228 vs 21) and review sentiment (90% vs 80%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GAINS sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Sobi sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for GAINS against 4.9 for Sobi. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sobi has 228 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 80% of GAINS's written reviews are positive against 90% of Sobi's.

GAINS ships an update every 4 days, Sobi every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
