# Ruby Chat vs AI Girlfriend

The clearest difference is ads: AI Girlfriend at none against Ruby Chat's shown. AI Girlfriend also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 56%) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). Ruby Chat's advantage is ratings volume (320 vs 39). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ruby Chat sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and AI Girlfriend sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Ruby Chat against 4.7 for AI Girlfriend. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ruby Chat has 320 ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of Ruby Chat's written reviews are positive against 86% of AI Girlfriend's.

Ruby Chat ships an update every 8 days, AI Girlfriend every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
