# Wordy vs Elingo

The clearest difference is ads: Elingo at none against Wordy's shown. Elingo also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Wordy's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (2.3K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wordy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Elingo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Elingo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wordy has 2.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Wordy ships an update every 10 days, Elingo every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
