# LingUp vs Learn Languages

The clearest difference is rating: LingUp at 4.6 against Learn Languages's 4.0. LingUp also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (161 vs 4). Learn Languages's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 39%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LingUp sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Learn Languages sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LingUp holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LingUp has 161 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of LingUp's written reviews are positive against 75% of Learn Languages's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LingUp ships an update weekly, Learn Languages every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
