# Simulon vs ILW Light Mapper

Simulon and ILW Light Mapper both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of ILW Light Mapper's written reviews are positive against 65% of Simulon's. ILW Light Mapper also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Simulon's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simulon sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and ILW Light Mapper sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Simulon against 4.3 for ILW Light Mapper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simulon has 36 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 65% of Simulon's written reviews are positive against 100% of ILW Light Mapper's.

Simulon ships an update every 6 days, ILW Light Mapper every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
