# Ascent vs PhoneLockAI

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PhoneLockAI at none against Ascent's 4. PhoneLockAI also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks). Ascent's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (52 vs 1). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ascent sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. PhoneLockAI asks for nothing beyond the download.

PhoneLockAI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ascent has 52 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
