# Step Tracker vs Capybara Walk

The clearest difference is rating: Step Tracker at 4.8 against Capybara Walk's 4.5. Step Tracker also leads on ratings volume (366 vs 47). Capybara Walk's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Step Tracker sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $0.79 per 7 days and Capybara Walk sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Step Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Step Tracker has 366 ratings behind it against 47, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Step Tracker's written reviews are positive against 93% of Capybara Walk's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Step Tracker ships an update every 2 weeks, Capybara Walk weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
