# Play Drums! vs Drum Set

The clearest difference is rating: Drum Set at 4.4 against Play Drums!'s 3.7. Drum Set also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ratings volume (416 vs 13). Play Drums!'s advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 33%). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Play Drums! sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Drum Set asks for nothing beyond the download.

Drum Set holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drum Set has 416 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Play Drums!'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Drum Set's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Play Drums! ships an update every 4 months, Drum Set every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
