# Play Drums! vs Drum Set

The clearest difference is rating: Drum Set at 5.0 against Play Drums!'s 3.7. Drum Set also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). Play Drums!'s advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 0%) and ratings volume (13 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Play Drums! sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Drum Set sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Drum Set holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Play Drums! has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Play Drums!'s written reviews are positive against 0% of Drum Set's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Play Drums! ships an update every 4 months, Drum Set daily. Both last shipped on October 19, 2026.
