# Daystar vs BTBN

The clearest difference is update cadence: Daystar at every 3 weeks against BTBN's every 85 months. Daystar also leads on ratings volume (614 vs 2). BTBN's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BTBN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Daystar has 614 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Daystar ships an update every 3 weeks, BTBN every 85 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
