# Block Joy vs Word Wise

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Word Wise at 67% against Block Joy's 19%. Word Wise also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). Block Joy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 71). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Block Joy sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Word Wise sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
