# Echo vs u up?

The clearest difference is review sentiment: u up? at 100% against Echo's 3%. u up? also leads on ratings volume (20 vs 1). Echo's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 8 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Echo sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and u up? sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Echo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: u up? has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 3% of Echo's written reviews are positive against 100% of u up?'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Echo ships an update every 8 days, u up? monthly. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
