# SMS Forwarder vs Text Export

The clearest difference is rating: SMS Forwarder at 4.3 against Text Export's 2.6. SMS Forwarder also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). Text Export's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS Forwarder sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Text Export sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SMS Forwarder holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMS Forwarder has 389 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of SMS Forwarder's written reviews are positive against 33% of Text Export's.

SMS Forwarder ships an update every 2 weeks, Text Export every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
