# Files vs AppStash

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Files at 242 against AppStash's 2. Files also leads on iOS requirement (5.0 vs 14.0). AppStash's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Files sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and AppStash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Files against 4.5 for AppStash. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Files has 242 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Files ships an update every 3 months, AppStash monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
