# Files vs Echobell

The clearest difference is update cadence: Echobell at weekly against Files's every 3 months. Echobell also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 88%). Files's advantage is ratings volume (242 vs 2) and iOS requirement (5.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Files sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Echobell sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Files against 4.5 for Echobell. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Files has 242 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 88% of Files's written reviews are positive against 100% of Echobell's.

Files ships an update every 3 months, Echobell weekly. Both last shipped on October 7, 2026.
