# Sun8 vs Welcome VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Welcome VPN at 5.0 against Sun8's 4.5. Welcome VPN also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). Sun8's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sun8 sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Welcome VPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

Welcome VPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Welcome VPN has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
