# Smart iCAM vs Security Home

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Smart iCAM at none against Security Home's 7. Smart iCAM also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Security Home's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 1) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security Home sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Smart iCAM asks for nothing beyond the download.

Security Home holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Home has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 11% of Smart iCAM's written reviews are positive against 19% of Security Home's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
