# BonChat vs Dual Messenger

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Dual Messenger at 100% against BonChat's 56%. Dual Messenger also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 4 weeks). BonChat's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (60K vs 87). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dual Messenger sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. BonChat asks for nothing beyond the download.

BonChat holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BonChat has 60K ratings behind it against 87, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of BonChat's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dual Messenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BonChat ships an update every 4 weeks, Dual Messenger every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
