# NoteGen vs Syllabus AI

The clearest difference is rating: NoteGen at 4.7 against Syllabus AI's 4.2. NoteGen also leads on ratings volume (474 vs 5) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). Syllabus AI's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 77%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteGen sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Syllabus AI sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NoteGen holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteGen has 474 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of NoteGen's written reviews are positive against 100% of Syllabus AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NoteGen ships an update weekly, Syllabus AI every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
