# NoteGen vs Notario

The clearest difference is monetization model: NoteGen at free with in-app purchases against Notario's subscription. NoteGen also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 67%) and ratings volume (474 vs 74). Notario's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NoteGen sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Notario sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for NoteGen against 4.7 for Notario. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteGen has 474 ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of NoteGen's written reviews are positive against 67% of Notario's.

NoteGen ships an update weekly, Notario every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
