# SetMyCamera vs Hoc Drop

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hoc Drop at 100% against SetMyCamera's 44%. Hoc Drop also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.4). SetMyCamera's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SetMyCamera sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $3.29 per 3 months and Hoc Drop sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hoc Drop holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SetMyCamera has 141 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 44% of SetMyCamera's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hoc Drop's.

SetMyCamera ships an update every 3 weeks, Hoc Drop every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
