# Speed vs Spades Plus

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Speed at none against Spades Plus's 11. Spades Plus's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (186K vs 64). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spades Plus sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Speed asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Speed against 4.7 for Spades Plus. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spades Plus has 186K ratings behind it against 64, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 40% of Speed's written reviews are positive against 41% of Spades Plus's.

Speed ships an update every 3 months, Spades Plus every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
