# Simple vs Tara

The clearest difference is rating: Simple at 4.6 against Tara's 4.0. Simple also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks) and device support (3 vs 1). Tara's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 57%) and in-app purchases (none vs 24). On price, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simple sells 24 one-off in-app purchases. Tara asks for nothing beyond the download.

Simple holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 10 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Simple's written reviews are positive against 93% of Tara's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple ships an update every 3 days, Tara every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
