# Vanilla POS vs Tunul

The clearest difference is monetization model: Tunul at free against Vanilla POS's paid. Tunul also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Vanilla POS against 5.0 for Tunul. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tunul has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Vanilla POS ships an update monthly, Tunul weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
