# NEC Mastery vs NEC Exam Prep

The clearest difference is rating: NEC Mastery at 4.8 against NEC Exam Prep's 4.5. NEC Mastery also leads on ratings volume (172 vs 6) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NEC Mastery sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and NEC Exam Prep sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NEC Mastery holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NEC Mastery has 172 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
