# AKIRA vs WhyTwoKay

The clearest difference is ratings volume: AKIRA at 2K against WhyTwoKay's 2. WhyTwoKay's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WhyTwoKay holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AKIRA has 2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AKIRA ships an update fortnightly, WhyTwoKay every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
